Rejected, but loved

A new cover system for Verso's Radical Books series. It was down to this and another direction; they went the other way, but we loved both treatments equally and wanted to show this one as well.

This was an idea we had for Metropolis Magazine's 2008 Next Generation Design Competition, which was themed "Fix Our Energy Addiction". It's an illustration of Renda and everything she has plugged in and uses at the studio. Yes, exactly 10 light bulbs. We counted.

Prior to the Republican National Convention, the Walker Arts Center launched a user-created "yard sign" project, with the winning yard signs to be printed and displayed in neighborhood yards prior to the convention. We were asked to contribute a yard sign for the launch, but it was rejected for not meeting the nonpartisan spirit of the competition.
